American Standard Circuits Awarded IATF 16949 Automotive Quality Certification

American Standard Circuits is now certified for automotive manufacturing according to the IATF-16949:2016 International Automotive Quality Management System (QMS). The certification is acknowledged as the industry’s highest standard of system and process quality for automotive suppliers.

ASC President and CEO Anaya Vardya commented, “This is a significant accomplishment for the company and our entire team.  Everyone in the company participated in this effort. Earning the IATF 16949 certification puts us that much closer to becoming the most versatile independent PCB fabricator in the country, something we have been working towards since we set our sights on when we set this goal less than three years ago. We continue to dedicate ourselves completely to our customers and their needs. When our customers or potential customers ask for something, not only do we listen to them, we hear them, and we act. My sincere thanks to everyone on the American Standard team who worked so hard towards this all-important achievement. This certification strengthens our existing QMS for our current certifications of AS9100D, ISO9001:2015 and other various MIL certifications.”

Vardya continued, “It is critical to maintain our quality certifications for a couple of reasons. First, the customers we serve are some of the most demanding in the business, and our certifications are mandatory to retain their business. Second, with the complexity of the advanced technology we produce daily, we just can’t afford mistakes and our QMS gives us the structure and discipline to minimize them.”

IATF 16949:2016 is the global technical specification and quality management standard for the automotive industry based on ISO 9001:2015. It is designed to be used in conjunction with ISO 9001:2015, and contains supplemental requirements specific to the automotive industry rather than being a stand-alone QMS.

IATF 16949:2016 brings together standards from across Europe and the U.S., outlining everything you need to know about achieving best practice when designing, developing, manufacturing, installing, or servicing automotive products. It is intended to be used by organizations of any size or industry, and can be used by any company. As an international standard, it is recognized as the basis for any company to create a system to ensure customer satisfaction and improvement, and as such, many companies demand this as the minimum requirement for an organization to be a supplier.

Because you are auditing your processes, as well as having a certification body audit them, your customers themselves do not need to audit your company. It is because of this that IATF 16949 has become a necessity for many companies to compete in the market

A company that is IATF 16969 Certified will have a distinct advantage based on the Quality standards that this certification requires from reduction in Quality discrepancies, to supply chain consistencies, to  more controlled global sourcing. This certification assures that American Standard Circuits is not only  stronger and more reliable automotive supplier but a stronger and more reliable supplier to all markets and technologies.
